Business Case for Upscaling Field Epidemiology Training Programs in India

FEiA partnered with Newcastle Business School to identify the best way to scale India's Field Epidemiology Training Programs. The project brought together India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Centre for Disease Control, training programs from across the country, and our regional FETP network, SAFETYNET, with funding from the World Bank.

Together, the team built STEPS, a practical planning tool that lets decision-makers describe the kind of training program they want to run, then shows the expected costs and benefits, helping maximise the return on investment in building India's outbreak-response workforce. The tool is a first for the global FETP community.
