GOARN deployment supports cyclone response in East New Britain

In late April, Tambri Housen and James Flint deployed through the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) to support the response to Cyclone Maila in Papua New Guinea. They visited several remote health centres and worked with the East New Britain Provincial Health Authority to strengthen surveillance, data management and analysis, and outbreak investigation. The team will return in September to help deliver Phase 3 of the national rapid response team training program.
