OH f-FETPNG expands into Southern Highlands Province

The One Health frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program of Papua New Guinea (OH f-FETPNG) has commenced Cohort 7, marking the program's expansion into Southern Highlands Province. Ten fellows from the human and animal health, agriculture, environmental and conservation sectors are taking part in Workshop 1 in Mount Hagen, drawn from the Southern Highlands Provincial Health Authority, the Papua New Guinea Biosecurity Authority, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, the Southern Highlands Provincial Administration's Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Division, and church health services.

Since completing Workshop 1, fellows have been applying their new skills through field projects in their workplaces, supported by mentors through the field interval. The cohort will reunite for Workshop 2 in July to share field experiences, present surveillance activities, and build further outbreak investigation skills.
