CORE-PNG at the Indo-Pacific health security summit
At the Indo-Pacific Health Alliance for Security (IPHAS) Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, our team co-facilitated a full-day functional exercise led by the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Associate Professor Tambri Housen and Callum Thirkell guided representatives from more than 21 countries, military, civilian, and non-government, through two scenarios: an infectious disease outbreak following a disaster, and a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear incident.
The exercise tested one question: when a health emergency hits, how do civil and military sectors work together?
