Training of trainers

We design and deliver training-of-trainer programs that build the competency and confidence of your national and subnational facilitators. Programs are tailored to your needs and can cover field epidemiology competencies, mentoring and facilitation skills, and curriculum design and development.

Building local faculty

In March 2025, our Training of Faculty workshop in PNG brought together 23 participants from five sectors and seven provinces — including senior faculty, graduates and FETP alumni. Participants built skills in adult learning, mentoring, facilitation and applied epidemiology, and produced draft role descriptions, mentoring strategies and community engagement approaches to support national program expansion.

In Solomon Islands, three junior faculty completed online training in questionnaire design between July and August 2025, with additional Excel training delivered at faculty request. The program also welcomed a new partnership with the National Disability Forum Solomon Islands, with NDF representatives joining faculty training sessions.

Why it matters

A program that depends on international trainers isn't sustainable. Our aim is the opposite: national faculty increasingly leading delivery, mentoring fellows and shaping program direction. In Solomon Islands, 78% of Cohort 3 sessions were delivered by national faculty in Pijin — a program milestone and a sign of what local ownership looks like in practice.
